PRIMARY OBJECTIVE :

Coordinate those efforts required ensuring increased sales volume, market share, and profits by focusing efforts on Metso products.

  • Identify new market or product opportunities and their channel requirements.
  • Prompt management reaction to changing product or market needs.
  • Focus on the agreed market area growth initiatives (from BL and Sales).
  • Coordinate new product introductions and market strategies to the sales channel, in conjunction with product management rollout programs.
  • Contribute to those activities that are required to produce results in accordance with corporate goals for sales, profit, quality Improvement and cost reduction.
  • Provide customer and sales product feedback to the product centers for continued competitiveness and offering actions
  • Work closely with responsible MA head and country managers
  • Business Manager Principle Duties :

  • Work in conjunction with Valve Product Managers to engage products assets into cohesive valve product offering.
  • Working with all strategic business objectives to grow the product line business according to plan.
  • Become product line technical expert in support of direct sales, representative and distributor sales force.
  • Develop and implement programs which will increase sales volume of product line business in all market areas served by Company
  • Develop and maintain key competitor analysis to include overall strategy, market emphasis, channel identification, and product evaluation.
  • Train field sales force as well as distributors in effective application of our products.
  • Plan and conduct product sales presentations and seminars to prospective customers domestically and in foreign countries.
  • Provide direct technical support to customers and specifying groups in order to develop their confidence level in Metso and its products necessary to be specified as their standard.
  • Recommend new products and suggest improvements to existing products.
  • Function as the primary marketing authority in consultation with product management and engineering on new designs and design changes.
  • Interact with product management and engineering to determine actions required to correct field problems arising out of product failure or misapplication.
  • Function as the primary marketing authority in warranty determinations.

  • Participate in technical seminars and trade association meetings that affect the assigned product.
  • Interact with manufacturing to ensure timely and adequate supply of products.
  • Take timely and appropriate action to optimize our inventory position within the corporate goals of inventory levels.
  • Continuously monitor pricing to ensure our competitive position.
  • Provide input on pricing structure for all significant quotations within the area of product responsibility as required.
  • Pricing to be based on competition or any other business condition identified at the time of quotation.

  • Travel as required promoting both our products and our company.
  • COMPLEXITY OF TASKS :

  • Must possess the skills to coordinate functions with the department and external to the company to satisfy customer and channel expectations.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, in conjunction with organizational skills are essential to performing this job. The ability to understand complex issues, react to multiple demands, and the capability to set proper priorities are essential.

    This position requires independent decision-making and planning.

  • Must be capable of interacting effectively at all levels in the organization.
  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :

    Four-year degree in Engineering, Marketing or related degree, with special knowledge of the valve and automation industry.

    Minimum of 4 6 years’ experience in sales and marketing of valves and related control equipment to major end users and specifying engineers preferred.

    Must be familiar with the various ways of channeling industrial products to market, such as direct sales, representatives, and distributors.

    Knowledge of how products are designed and manufactured is very helpful. Rudimentary financial knowledge is also helpful.

    Must be fluent in Spanish.
