Bechtel is seeking a Senior Environmental and Permitting Engineer for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. Position will be responsible for planning and performing independent work within the business unit, with experience in Compliance Control for the Permitting area.
The purpose of the position is to manage the identification, parameterization and compliance with the commitments and obligations of environmental and sectorial permits for the execution of mining projects.
The Senior Environmental and Permitting Engineer is principally responsible for :
Civil, environmental or other qualified engineer, with experience and specific knowledge in environmental assessment and management of sectorial permits in mining projects.
Experience over 10 years in the above mentioned functions.
Verifiable coordination capacity to manage with the different areas of the project and third parties the delivery of technical background for the work receptions, in accordance with the regulatory requirement and the scope of Bechtel in the contract.
Knowledge in urban planning, water, sanitary, electrical, fuel, telecommunications, Sernageomin, etc. regulations.
Proven skills in obtaining and managing permits in public and private entities.
Performs most tasks independently with instructions on overall expected results.
Ability to provide technical guidance to different engineering areas or supervisors on unusual or complex problems arising from engineering or construction developments.
Provide technical and specific work direction to engineers, designers, draftsmen, technicians, and other subordinates who assist in performing specific tasks.

Qualifications and Skills
The Senior Environmental and Permitting Engineer shall be knowledgeable and / or experienced in :
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
10 years of relevant experience.
Review and coordinate engineering from other disciplines from environmental and permitting.
Review and validate technical information to support permit files for different services.
Coordinate and manage with the client the different permits associated with the project.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate permitting master plans
Coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between the specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers and contractors and among other groups.
Preparation of letters to suppliers and customers.
Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendations.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
Performs or assists in performing problem analysis and original design.
Reviews and verifies the work of subordinate engineers.
