We're looking for a Brand Writer to concept and execute all things Marketing. You're just as comfortable teaming up with stakeholders to ideate and support Go-To-Market plans as you are flying solo, writing paid social ads or marketing blog posts.
You'll manage your own projects and timelines and partner closely with marketing and product stakeholders. This role will also require you to oversee the organization's messaging, ensuring its consistency with our communication guide.
We need someone who thrives on project variety to take ownership of writing assignments - big and small. Whether it's turning around a quick banner ad or supporting a comprehensive brand campaign you're a self-starter who loves the challenge of upleveling basic briefs into relatable, engaging executions.
This is a contract role; however, we are looking to expand it to full time.
What You’ll Do
Sit on the Marketing team and lead copywriting for the organization, focused on paid social, ASO, product marketing, and CRM
Deliver copy that reflects Smule’s value proposition, positioning and executes on the strategy, shared by key stakeholders
Work closely with marketing / product stakeholders and / or designers regularly and be comfortable in a writer-designer partnership
Manage your own projects create schedules with your marketing / product / design partners, negotiate timing and tradeoffs with stakeholders, and ensure projects stay on track
Manage the copy pipeline - develop and create compelling copy including, but not limited to : new product features, product launches and updates, blogs, case studies, emails, newsletters, promotional materials, video headlines / text / captions, training materials, press releases, product features, bios, social media, and advertisement
4+ years writing professionally at an agency or in-house
A strong portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, creativity and impressive writing chops
Results-driven content strategy experience a plus
A reliable self-starter who can handle multiple projects with minimum supervision
Great presentation skills with the ability to explain your creative vision and listen to feedback
You’re supportive, collaborative, empathetic and thrive at a start-up level pace
3-5 writing samples
Product, advertising and social writing and strategy test
Experience with Jira
Have a passion for hip-hop and all things music
Writing fluency in other languages (please include in your cover letter)
Experience interviewing subject matter experts and collaborating with team members to draft intelligent, compelling content to support product and marketing across multiple platforms
Working knowledge of social media platforms and best practices in writing marketing content and using hashtags
