Responsibilities / Tasks

The Service Sales Engineer will be responsible for generating sustainable Service business growth within an assigned customer base by proactively promoting added value after sales solutions, safeguarding and developing the after-

  • sales flow business (spare parts, field services and repairs) and assuring the overall customer satisfaction. This position will report to the Head of Service Sales and must have all necessary technical and soft skills to act credible and knowledgeable in front of customers;
  • the Service Sales Engineer is the first contact point for customer for all Service related requests. Additionally, the Service Sales Engineer will also play a key role in GEA’s local technological events by either presenting or proactively promoting Service solutions.

    Internally, the Service Sales Engineer must act as a driver for customer satisfaction and business growth by aligning marketing initiatives, suggesting new developments to the Service Project team, addressing operational issues and promoting internal synergies.

    The Service Sales Engineer plays a key role in safeguarding the financial results (Gross Margin and EBITDA).

    The tasks and responsibilities for the role include :

  • Account management and ownership of a defined customer group
  • Proactive generation and follow up of Service opportunities
  • Technical argumentation of Service proposals
  • Follow up and reactivation of customers
  • Development and execution of account plans
  • Safeguard of the overall customer satisfaction throughout the entire lifecycle of the installed base, driving operational issues to resolution
  • Recording and actualization of the installed base data
  • Active participation in corporate events
  • Generation and internal communication of reliable and relevant market information
  • Support in the cash collection process
  • Communication requirements for the role :

  • Internal customers : Sales Engineers, Service Project Engineers, Service Backoffice Engineers, Field Service Engineers, Finance, Supply Chain and Regional Service Management Support team.
  • External customers : Customers, Consultants, Distributor / Agent / Dealer networks
  • Impact (Chance / Risk) : Cost Center

    Overview

    A bachelor degree in Engineering as a standard, with previous experience in the commercialization of after sales products, service agreements and added value Service solutions (upgrades, modernizations, etc.

    The candidate must have a structured and methodological working structure with a solid technical background in maintenance theory, combined with strong soft commercial and communicational skills.

    Good knowledge of MS Office software is required.

    Advanced English proficiency is a must.

    The candidate must be open to change, capable of promoting internal synergies, eager to implement new strategies and have a customer centric attitude.

    Previous experience within the food industry or with rotary separation equipment (decanters and / or centrifuges) will be prioritized.

    Education / Work experience :

    Required education (e.g. university degree, apprenticeship)

    University degree in mechanical / automation / electronic engineering.

    Required languages

    English (full professional proficiency)

    Spanish (full professional proficiency)

    Other qualification / further education

    Previous experience within the food industry or with rotary separation equipment (decanters and / or centrifuges) will be prioritized.
