As a Marketing Consultant focused on technology andConnectivity you will serve as a consultant and divisional expert in aspecialized field or specialty area where decisions and recommendations aremade for strategic advantage and contribute to the Division’s business andlong-
term leadership position.
JobDuties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Developexpertise in technology and connectivity area and as one of the best in thecompany. Expertise may be in a specific product or industry or in a processrelated to critical distribution related areas such as service, parts orbusiness processes.
Individuals demonstrate creativity, foresight, businessjudgement and outstanding machine application or marketing / distributionknowledge along with the sensitivity to customer financial impact.
You will gainknowledge, recognition and expertise to influence market requirements, trendsand agency regulations.
Developapplication of on board technology and connectivity experience, life cycle costknowledge of dealers’ and customers’ application, industry and marketplaceneed.
You will be providing support in areas covering new productintroductions, market and distribution needs to stimulate breakthroughsolutions that would help in market leadership.
You will support seniormanagement in planning major programs and objectives for the Division. Youshould begin to gain experience in providing direction for future product;
distribution and industry needs and continue to improve your skills at sharingthis expertise at higher industry levels with business unit management.
ManageConnectivity and On board Technology GTM initiatives for Americas South
Managethe compliance of your own assignments and keep up-to-date with new industrytrends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitiveenvironment.
Communicateeffectively across product, industry, dealer and / or customer audiences to gainunderstanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.
At this level,leadership skills and the ability to sell ideas are beginning to develop,either as an individual performer or as the principal contributor to or leaderof a generally small group / task force of technical or marketing people.
Youwill also be developing expertise within government agencies, nationalassociations, dealers and customer groups.
Shareknowledge and experience as a contributor to Caterpillar’s Knowledge Managementinitiative. This involvement will be on a regional basis supporting productgroups, corporate processes and / or dealer knowledge sharing processes.
You willlikely be a member of a component, product, process or industry "Communityof Practice". In this role you will have the accountability fordocumenting key elements of this position and sharing it within the realm ofCaterpillar’s Knowledge Management system.
Acollege or university degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Business level of fluency in English and Spanish
9to 12 years’ experience of specific industry experience in order to gainrecognition as a Divisional and company expert.
Deepknowledge in On Board Technology and Connectivity
Broadbusiness background, specific long-term industry knowledge and excellentcommunication skills.
Abilityto work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internallyand externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences.
Abilityto deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and / or persuade others on newmethods of equipment application, new technology and distribution methods.
Goodhuman relations skills to develop a collaborative / cooperative work relationshipwith others inside and outside the business unit
Previousmarketing and / or field experience and / or previous supervisory experience.
Generally,requires extensive travel to understand regional or worldwide businessconditions.
