Department The Field Operations Technician position is within the Service MED organization under the region of Latin America's Technical Planning Office (LATAM TPO), which is responsible for providing world class service to WTGs and clients in the Mediterranean and Latin American regions.

The LATAM service region consists of 11 countries and three sub regions with main offices in Argentina, Mexico City, Santiago, and Sao Paulo.

Latin America is a key growth region for Vestas and has high visibility in the senior management of the company. The Technical Planning Office supports operations and contract engineering departments in ensuring that all major technical projects are implemented and communicated to customers in an efficient and effective manner.

In addition to having ownership of all major corrective actions on our turbines, the TPO works to ensure processes optimization and risk mitigation and to provide a technical resources for communicating technical issues to customers.

Responsibilities Within TPO LATAM, the "Field Operations" group will be responsible for Special Tasks (tasks beyond the capabilities of local service sites), implementation of new projects, major corrective changes, and technical support all LATAM regions.

For the Field Operations group we are seeking experienced technicians for the following responsibilities :

  • Leadership in coordinating and executing exchanges of major components. (Blades, generators, transformers, gearboxes, main shafts)
  • Leadership in coordination of tasks associated with the appropriate completion of Commissioning
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement on site and proposing solutions
  • Implementation of special tasks
  • Supporting in documentation and process development
  • Qualifications

  • Organizational skills for managing personnel and complex projects
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-discipline knowledge including comfort with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Basic English language proficiency for understanding documentation and basic communication
  • Candidates must have international labor flexibility and availability
  • Strong level of self-motivation, capable of working on distributed team, away from management
