UX Researcher III - OLX Autos, Chile or Mexico

OLX Autos is looking for a passionate, experienced, and analytical UX Researcher (UX Researcher - 3) to join its Global User Research team.

You will be a part of the User Research team that is building the next generation of best-in-class customer experiences for the autos segment across the globe.

You will work closely with key stakeholders in the organization to craft the user-centric product strategy for launching delightful features and enhancing the existing buy and sell experience on OLX Autos for millions of global users.

What will be your key responsibilities?

As a key member of the User Research team, you will be responsible for inspiring user-centric changes in the product that will help us create useful, usable, and delightful new features and products as well as continually innovating on our existing product experience.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to :

  • Aligning with Product teams for quarterly research roadmap setting, understanding research needs, and proposing the right methodologies
  • Run research projects (usability testings, small scale ethnographic studies, telephonic interviews, surveys) end to end right from objective setting, sample design, fieldwork to analysis and reporting either independently or in collaboration with other members of the team
  • Present insights from research studies to important stakeholders like Product, Design, and occasionally leadership team
  • Assisting senior members of the team in planning and execution of larger business-related strategic studies
  • Aligning and collaborating regularly with research team members based in other regions, as well as Product and Design teams
  • Having an innovative mindset, proposing new ideas, and working on improving research processes in the team.
  • Must have :

  • A background in psychology / HCI / Design management or related fields with 6+ years of work experience in the user research field
  • Strong understanding of research methods and when to use them, strong experience with ethnographic and usability testing
  • Good communication (teamwork, empathy, ability to influence business decisions) and presentation skills
  • Experience working with market / design research vendors
  • Strong experience with planning, executing and analyzing formative and summative studies
  • Should be fluent in English and willing to travel locally and internationally (with due consideration of the pandemic, when the government policies and Olx global safety policies allow it)
  • Growth mindset, unbiased / open-minded, and open to giving and receiving feedback
  • Good to have :

  • Experience with quant research - planning, executing, and analyzing quant research
  • Experience in autos is a plus
  • What will you need to succeed in this role?

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills - ability to understand and interpret quantitative and qualitative research findings within the context of the product / business - and distill findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication & presentation skills (written, oral and visual). Ability to confidently work with cross-functional teams across the globe and to present information to all levels of the organization.
  • Intellectual curiosity and initiative to dig into the who, why, where, what & how.
  • Curiosity and empathy towards users, their behavior, and how they interact with mobile / digital products.
  • Knowledge of software tools & applications for conducting usability research & testing, creating prototypes, and delivering impactful presentations will be a plus.
  • Experience in working with agile design and development teams.
  • Inherent interest in eCommerce, FinTech & marketplace platforms, and broadly in the autos space.
  • Most importantly, an extremely positive Can Do attitude which continuously drives you to take initiative and demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation.
