About the Role
As Lead Autonomy Components, you will play a key role on supporting the delivery of the projects under the autonomy program for Minerals Americas Copper assets.
Reporting to the Manager Delivery Autonomy you will bring project and vendor management capability to execute and deliver projects in accordance with the BHP Projects Management Framework, relevant site standards and approved performance targets (HSE, cost, quality, schedule) to enable the autonomy program.
Acting as contract owner, success in this role will be achieved through on-time delivery and availability of components, parts and spares to support the conversion of equipment at the mine site, engagement with BHP stakeholders, external design consultants, construction contractors and materials suppliers.
You will actively project-manage the acquisition, arrival to site, storage and disposal of all which is required fo a successful conversion, and liaise with other members of the team for handover, commissioning and close-out phases.
This position is based in Santiago, with weekly travel to site.

Project manage multiple fronts (truck assembly and conversion components, technology equipment).
Knowledge and understanding of Contract Management System, Vendor Master, Purchasing , Service Entry Sheet and Invoice Processes and provision of support for these where required
Good understanding of the query management system and SAP procurement and invoicing processes with ability to investigate Purchase Orders, workflows and held invoices and interrogate status of these to perform tasks in relation to customer / vendor queries
Provide input into Autonomy strategic plans, budgets and targets, and ensure compliance for streams of work under your control
Perform regular evaluation of project risks and implement controls where necessary. Regular field verification of risk controls will be required.
Provide regular project progress reports, across various platforms, to all stakeholders
Actively participate in ensuring Monitoring & Controlling activities are executed and take corrective actions as required
Maintain relationships with key customers at the Supervisor / maintenance planner level (within our business) and key contacts within our vendors businesses
Maintain relationships with Contracts Specialists, Category Specialists and Procurement Analysts within the Category Management team
Provide input and necessary support for operational readiness requirements so that handover is inclusive of all maintenance plans, work instructions, spare parts, etc.
At project completion, ensure all project documentation has been updated to as-commissioned status and submitted to the Governance & Technical Stewardship team for final endorsement and storage
Regularly liaise with other project teams and operational functions across BHP to provide sharing of knowledge and aid continual improvement in project delivery
Engineer in Mechanical, Commercial, Industrial, or related fields in STEM.
3+ years demonstrated experience across a portfolio of contract management for projects with multiple delivery requirements.
Requires English level intermediate.
Requires good time management skills with an ability to managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Requires demonstrated technical skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
Demonstrates ability to manage internal stakeholders and external consultants and contractors through a program of multiple capital projects.
Requires ability to work flexibly from multiple job locations, including management of city-based consultants, and site-based contractors.
Requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports for senior BHP business leaders.
