H&M's holistic sustainability work with all actions, programs, projects, etc. throughout the entire value chain is essential to ensure future business, growth, and profits.

In accordance with the global sustainability strategy and guidelines, you as part of the sustainability team, successfully drive H&M's sustainability work in South America (Chile, Peru & Uruguay).

You understand sustainability as an opportunity to promote business and innovative solutions. Together with the organization, you ensure that sustainability becomes a natural part of everyone's work, and we feel pride to actively working in a sustainable way.

Key responsibilities including areas such as :

DRIVE Colleague Engagement

Staff Engagement) : Lead the work to motivate and inspire the internal organization through information on sustainability issues and involvement in sustainable actions, in line with the global sustainability strategy and global guidelines.

Purpose : raising awareness and perception internally about sustainability at H&M. Make everyone a confident and proud ambassador to be able to engage with customers to drive the perception of H&M as a sustainable brand which ultimately drives sales.

DRIVE Stakeholder Engagement

Lead the work to engage with relevant external stakeholders, in line with the global sustainability strategy, global guidelines and the global stakeholder engagement plan.

Synchronize with the Country Manager, PR and other relevant departments (global and local). Build long term relations with relevant stakeholders that will be third party ambassadors.

Goal : raising awareness and perception externally about sustainability at H&M.

DRIVE local sustainability work - In line with the global sustainability strategy and global guidelines.

BUSINESS SUPORT - For the local and global organization

  • You support the local departments in setting and following-up their sustainability goals.
  • You are an expert regarding all sustainability related questions, stay updated and informed on the latest internal and external sustainability developments.
  • You constantly challenge the status quo, & actively promote action with innovative approaches.
  • You support successful local implementation of global initiatives (e.g. garment collection).
  • Qualifications

    We see that you have a strong commercial focus and are oriented towards generating and promoting innovative actions regarding sustainability issues.

    You are aware of the impact of these actions, and you achieve a great result that benefits the company.

    You could positively influence people, you are inspiring, communicative, collaborative and customer focused.

    In addition to your sustainable mindset, you will need to be successful in this role, the following requirements :

  • Academic preparation / studies in areas of sustainability, such as diplomas, courses, training, etc.
  • Relevant work experience in sustainability areas.
  • Work experience in Retail companies (would be valued but not mandatory)
  • Leadership skills and focus on achieving measurable goals with excellent results.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
  • Good networking abilities, be part of the local sustainability scene.
  • Good handling of Microsoft Office tools ( Word, Powerpoint and Excel).
  • Additional Information

    This position is based in Santiago de Chile and reports to the Communications Manager.
