The Work You’ll Do
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director for SSA is a newly created position designed to develop, build out and drive Sovos Global DEI strategy & framework, helping to define Sovos DEI strategy in region and lead the development of the creative DEI practice in all the countries we serve throughout SSA.
This role will report directly to the VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and will partner with Sovos Regional Leadership, Regional HR, Marketing, Product, and all functional areas, to make sure that all areas in the company are represented in the initial discovery and included in the strategy and annual plan that you will be responsible for leading.
More specifically, you will :
In partnership with VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, establish annual DEI priorities for SSA Region.
Lead the regional discovery DEI phase that will enable the construction of a strategy based on country priorities. Analyze country / regional data to identify trends, insights, and gaps to inform strategy, relevant programming, and interventions.
Develop and execute strategy, action plans, & KPIs to promote organization-wide awareness of diversity and inclusion with a global / regional lens, ensuring locally relevant awareness of inclusion and diversity issues.
Develop external partnerships to increase diversity in talent pipeline.
Build a culture of inclusivity through education, awareness, and partnership.
Marketing & Communications
Develop our communications and branding to influence participation and perceptions as an employer of choice, committed throughout all levels to DEI.
Lead regional DEI communications in local language with organization-wide updates, strategy and progress sharing with counsel / leads, and partnering across functions and teams.
Drive awareness, interest, and dedication to DEI through compelling messaging and storytelling.
Work with Digital Marketing to provide DEI content for regional websites and Sovos Latin America, Brazil and México social media, and to collaborate with Content / Customer Marketing to collaborate with DEI content on internal comms (Somos Sovos) and regional customer newsletters.
Partner with Regional HR :
On initiatives to increase diversity of talent acquisitions, talent developments, engagement, and retention of our high-performing workforce.
Identify external recruitment channels and partnership programs and opportunities to provide broader and more diverse pipelines in region.
Partner with Learning & Development team to provide both leadership and employee diversity, equity and inclusion educational opportunities.
What we are looking for from you :
8+ years of regional leadership experience in global / multi-country organization(s)
8+ years of experience leading highly effective teams, supervising, and developing team members, including across lines of difference, and building inclusive team environments.
Demonstrated leadership qualities, including excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, inclusive leadership style, strategic and innovative thinking, persuasion and influencing skills, executive presence, and the ability to build enthusiasm and commitment.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, build alignment and lead implementation within multi-stakeholder organizations.
Business acumen, analytical skills, reliability, and sound judgment
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen intently and respond effectively. Including presentation, facilitation and written communication skills including ability to take complex concepts and translate into concise, digestible content.
