Position Summary
Bechtel is seeking a Contracts Administrator - Pumpstations for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for Administrating large and complex (sub)contracts.
Maintaining a continuing review of the progress of each (sub)contract and providing management with information regarding any financial, legal or technical difficulties.
Preparing change order and amendments, negotiating with (sub)contractors and customers to obtain a settlement.
Responsibilities
The Contracts Administrator - Pumpstations is principally responsible for :
Implementing the Division Responsibilities Matrix which records the Project’s agreed assignment of various (sub)contract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to (Sub)Contract Administration.
Administrating assigned (sub)contracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
Coordinating with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, (sub)contract performance, (sub)contract administration and other major matters.
Administrating contract changes by negotiating with customer / (sub)contractor personnel and obtaining settlement.
Representing Bechtel / customer in contractual discussions of moderate complexity.
Administrating information programs to ensure mutual understanding of (sub)contract terms and conditions.
Preparing periodic status and metrics reports for management.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
The Contracts Administrator Pumpstations shall be knowledgeable and / or experienced in :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other industry related field, AND 9 or more years of experience, AND Specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations and accounting.
Additional Qualifications
Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies and practices.
Possesses extensive knowledge and experience in (sub)contract management and applies that knowledge and experience to improve project performance.
Working knowledge of engineering / construction industry contracting practices and Bechtel policies, procedures and work practices.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management.
