Position Overview

This is an internal recruitment for the position of Recreation Services Manager and is only open to current City of Henderson employees.

  • Under general supervision, develops, plans, manages and coordinates the delivery and execution of comprehensive entertainment, special event, recreation and aquatics programs, services and related activities;
  • manages the staff, operations and maintenance of City facilities, venues and related amenities; assures that safe and appropriate entertainment, special events, recreation and aquatics programs are provided for the community;
  • and performs related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Parks and Recreation Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in development, organization, and operation of a variety of recreation programs and facilities, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
  • Incumbent may be required to obtain specific technical certifications.
  • Desirable Certifications :

  • National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) : Parks and Certifications : Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).
  • National Therapeutic Recreation Society (NTRS) : Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
