To strengthen its Environment & Sustainability division, Ausenco is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead studies . The role would suit a an experienced and highly regarded professional consultant who has previously advised clients in the natural resources sector and has a comprehensive knowledge of the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role Develop hydrogeological conceptual models and investigations Prepare technical and economic proposals Lead works with the requestor to develop / confirm conceptual hydrogeological model assumptions and desired model output.
Analyze model outputs and present recommendations based on those outputs (i.e. technical memos, reports, etc.). Maintain and update models so that they can represent current / planned water supply facilities, operations, and demands.
Create and maintain documentation of all model and other activities. Lead and supervision of major hydrogeologic projects.
Mentoring and training Jr members of the team Qualifications Experience a Geologist / Hydrogeologist from an accredited university Proven experience in mining in Chile Strong knowledge in hydrogeology and in general and structural geology.
Advance experience in execution and analysis of hydraulic testing, Mandel-Lefranc,Lugeon,slug test, pumping test. Advance experience hydrogeological drilling supervision , piezometer installation and monitoring systems.
Good experience in hydrological analysis and water balances. Good understanding of hydrogeological numerical modelling and modelling tools, MF ( VMF GWV),Feeflow others.
Good understanding of geophysics ,-hydrogeophisics technics (TEM-ERT). Advance experience in geological 3 D modelling platforms, Vulcan,Leapfrog, Surpac ,similar.
Knowledge of the Chilean water and environmental regulations. At least 10 years of experience supporting mining projects and operations in Chile, with at least 5 years of recent experience offering consulting services.
Skills and knowledge of Project Management with proven experience in management of hydrogeological l major projects. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
