The Latin America Investment Banking Group focuses on establishing strategic dialogue and building long-term relationships with the largest Latin American corporations, financial institutions and financial sponsors.
We provide expert advice, capitalizing on powerful mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity product expertise to deliver integrated financial solutions for our clients.
The Associate will be based in Santiago, Chile.
Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will act as a key team member in our Investment Banking team. Tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
Developing and maintaining complex financial models
Performing various financial analyses, including valuations and merger analysis
Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research
Preparing presentation and other materials for clients
Participating in due diligence sessions
Communicating and interacting with deal team members, across products and industries
Managing several projects at once and working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
Playing a key role in supporting origination, opportunity evaluation and deal execution, working on a broad scope of assignments and products within an industry group
Manage analyst(s) in the team - ensure that the Analysts understand the work, execute it well, receive the coaching needed to develop their skills and receive appropriate communications about the status of current deals and client discussions
Team members work closely with senior bankers in day-to-day client coverage and are expected to make an immediate contribution.
Core skills and requirements
1 - 2 years of experience as an Investment Banking Associate
MBA degree with outstanding academic qualifications preferred (or 3 years of prior Investment Banking Analyst experience can be substituted for an MBA)
Fluent in English
A track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities
Strong quantitative / analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus
Strategic and creative thinking skills; distinguished written and oral communications skills
Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus
Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
Dedication to building a career in the investment banking industry
Fully professional fluency in Spanish (and Portuguese desired but not necessary)
