The Consulting Business Development (CGBD) role is focused in continuing to grow our consulting business within the Latin American market.

The role reports into the Consulting Business Development Manager (South and North Latin America, excluding Brazil).

Consulting Business Development role summary

The CGBD role is a client-facing commercial role that is highly collaborative and involves working in close collaboration with both sales and research functions to design and negotiate commercially viable market research solutions that match existing and new client business objectives and strategic goals.

The role is at the intersection of research consultant and business development and is equally suitable to a team player that comes from a market research / consulting background and is able to demonstrate strong commercial skills, as it is to a candidate with a solid commercial background able demonstrate strong market research and analysis skills.

The strongest candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in both facets of the role.

Key responsibilities

  • The core functions of the CGBD are to evaluate client business objectives, use research / analytical know-how and experience to design, position, negotiate and sell market research solutions that fit our client’s goals.
  • The CGBD involves strong collaboration across Euromonitor functional teams, partnering with sales, account management and research teams on consulting opportunities.
  • In addition to designing and negotiating solutions, The CGBD will also be expected to work proactively with sales partners to identify potential business intelligence needs by : assisting in mapping and identifying key areas within a company where Euromonitor’s market research capabilities can be applied;
  • being actively involved in the the discovery process; attending client / prospect meetings; presenting consulting capabilities and developing marketing materials / tools, where appropriate.

  • The CGBD is also expected to work closely with sales managers and sales partners to provide adequate training and support to better enable sales representatives to position Euromonitor’s consulting capabilities, identify and qualify opportunities.
  • The CGBD is also expected to develop strong collaborative relationships with the research teams including engaging senior research staff to assist in designing solutions that fit Euromonitor’s capabilities;
  • briefing of project teams on won solutions providing details of methodological approach; support the project team throughout the research process in managing client expectations, particularly in dealing with changes to the agreed specification of the project;
  • provide input in brainstorming around challenging methodological areas of the research solution, particularly when unexpected complexities arise;
  • reviewing project outputs at key stages of the project and providing constructive feedback.


  • 5+ years experience
  • Experience working with Latin American clients, specifically Mexico and Central America
  • Fully fluent in both spoken and written business Spanish
  • Ability and proven record successfully collaborating with multiple functions
  • Strong analytical / research skills and / or commercial skills
  • A drive and creativity to take a very conceptual idea or objective and reform it into a clearly defined, actionable and synthesized research scope fully outlined within a written proposal
  • Broad understanding of the strategy process for companies competing in B2C and B2B markets
  • Ability to understand the key functions within a company and what important, in terms of business intelligence needs, to support their strategy process
  • Ability to build and support relationships with both senior executives at a broad range of global clients and internal Euromonitor partners sales, accounts and research
  • Sufficient creative and organizational disposition necessary to thrive in an autonomous work environment
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills both verbal and written
