Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Natural Resources and Infrastructure Division. The Economic Affairs Assistant reports to the Chief of Division.

prepares input for the electronic database and the internet and co-operates with research institutes and organizations in the collection of data.

University degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or related areas is desirable.

Work Experience At least ten years of experience in collecting and researching data across various areas of social and economic development or related area is required.
At least five years of experience in collecting and researching data across various areas of economic development with emphasis in natural resources or infrastructure, is required.
Relevant experience in applying statistical and econometric tolls and models is required. Relevant experience in area of water, energy or extractive natural resources is desirable.
Relevant experience in areas related to transport and logistics is desirable. Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
For the post advertised, advanced knowledge of Spanish and intermediate knowledge of English is required.
NOTE : ’Advanced level’’ equals a rating of ’fluent’’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ’Intermediate level’’ equals a rating of ’confident’’ in two of the four areas.
Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
