The company is growing rapidly, both in terms of adding new cities as well as increasing the scale of the city fleets that we operate.

Scoot is looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to manage vehicle deployment in multiple cities. We are growing the team to rapidly pave the way for Scoot launches in cities across the world.

We are looking for a strong Vehicle Technician with management experience, who loves shared mobility and is knowledgeable about or eager to learn the complexities of this expanding industry.

The Vehicle Deployment Technician will work on our Global Fleet team and deliver on-time deployment of their vehicle class (a team of technicians will report to the Vehicle Deployment Manager or Team Lead).

An extreme attention to detail is key to the role, which involves reading technical documentation, managing contractor assemblers, and triaging + diagnosis of assembled vehicles.

This role will be traveling for the first 6-9 months with a transition in the second half of 2019 to more measured travel for deployment (we're going to get better at this process together!).

Responsibilities :

  • Assembly - assemble and prepare hundreds of vehicles a week for deployment in multiple cities across the region, manage assemblers to effectively and safely assemble completed vehicles
  • Diagnostics - diagnose issues, both electrical and mechanical, triage issues in batches, and communication issues in coherent terms to Program Managers & Engineers.
  • Work with Program Managers to communicate issues to suppliers as needed.

  • Testing - test vehicles end-to-end and prepare for onroading to the public. Work with Deployment Manager & City Manager to coordinate such testing.
  • Training - teach the local Fleet Managers to manage ongoing deployment of vehicles and training of assemblers. Work with Vehicle Programs team to provide consistent and clear documentation of work instructions.
  • Coordination - work with the Deployment Manager, Logistics Manager, and Vehicle Program Managers to ensure on-time delivery and successful deployment of vehicles
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • Problem solving attitude
  • Enjoy working as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Strong understanding of telematics troubleshooting
  • Military electronics training experience a plus
  • High proficiency in English, plus proficiency in Spanish, French, or Italian
  • 2-3 years experience in people management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing unskilled labor contractors
  • Experience launching / deploying new products. Vehicle / Fleet experience preferred
  • Tenacious spirit to arrive at solutions where seemingly none exists
  • Naturally curious perspective seeking to innovative where needed
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline; trade school with professional certification (or formación profesional) may be considered
