We have an exciting opportunity for a "PM Geotechnical Engineer" to join our team based out of Santiago, Chile. The Global Mining Business within Golder provides integrated engineering and environmental services to the mining industry, with and enviable list of clients that include mining companies, consultants, engineering firms, and financial institutions.

Golder Mining is coordinated on a global level through a network of mining specialist located in North and Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia, providing a series of unique service packages that cover mine water, mine waste, mine environment, mine infrastructure, mine engineering and geology.

A global presence allows for reliable and innovative services on a worldwide scale. Although this position is based in Chile we will also consider candidates globally who would relocate to Lima for a 2 to 3 year term. Key Responsibilities :

  • Carrying out the design of tailings storage facilities, from conceptual through detailed design stages.
  • Contributing to the development of a business plan for Mine Waste Management Services in Peru.
  • Providing engineering services with respect to mine waste management and task management.
  • Carrying out and overseeing design analyses, including; slope stability, seepage, water balance, surface water and groundwater.
  • Client liaison
  • Preparing and delivering technical reports and overseeing others input to technical reports.
  • Audits and review compliance.
  • Providing leadership and focus to key efforts in mine waste business development across the region. Job requirements;
  • The preferred candidate will have the fallowing skills and qualifications.
  • 15 years' experience
  • Bachelor degree or similar in Civil, Geotechnical or environmental Engineering.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Geotechnical engineering or area related to tailings management would be a plus.

  • Registered Chartered / professional Engineer or Member of a related professional body.
  • Exposure to mining and / or industrial waste management or related civil engineer fields.
  • Consulting experience will be well regarded.

  • Good Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good time management abilities
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communications and critical thinking skills
  • Proven capabilities, working efficiently in project teams as both contributor and leader.
  • At least 5 years of relevant practical experience
